Chicago-based band Brigitte Calls Me Baby will release their sophomore album Irreversible on March 13 via ATO Records, marking the follow-up to their widely praised 2024 debut The Future Is Our Way Out.
Fronted by vocalist Wes Leavins, the group has built steady momentum over the past year through national television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Mornings, and The Kelly Clarkson Show, along with touring alongside Fontaines D.C. and Morrissey. With Irreversible, the band pushes their cinematic brand of alternative rock even further.
Recorded live at Lawrence Rothman’s home studio and produced by Yves Rothman and Lawrence Rothman (whose credits include work with Girl in Red, Angel Olsen, and Yves Tumor), Irreversible captures both the urgency and emotional scale of Brigitte Calls Me Baby’s live performances.
Much of Irreversible was written while the band traveled extensively across the United States and Europe. Lyrics and melodies were often developed through exchanged voice memos between Leavins and bassist Devin Wessels, with ideas refined during soundchecks and performances while on tour. When the band returned to Chicago between tour runs, those sketches were expanded and arranged into fully realized songs.

The album reflects both the exhaustion and exhilaration of constant motion. Themes of time, mortality, and emotional acceptance run throughout Irreversible, shaping songs that balance sweeping guitar-driven arrangements with intimate lyrical storytelling.
Leavins has spoken about confronting those themes during time spent visiting historic cemeteries while touring, using those moments to reflect on the inevitability of change and the importance of embracing the present.
Musically, Irreversible expands the band’s sound palette while maintaining the dramatic alt-rock sound that first drew attention to their debut album. Tracks like “There Always” and “I Can Take the Sun Out of the Sky” highlight the record’s blend of soaring melodies and emotional intensity.
Following the release of Irreversible, Brigitte Calls Me Baby will embark on an extensive North American headline tour, including stops in Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Nashville, Washington D.C., New York, and San Francisco, where the band will perform April 28 at Café du Nord.
With Irreversible, Brigitte Calls Me Baby continue to expand their reach, delivering a record that captures both the vulnerability and scale of modern alternative rock.
