GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Alex Warren has released his new single “Rescuer,” offering another preview of his forthcoming sophomore album, Wildchild, arriving August 28 via Atlantic Records.
Released alongside an official music video directed by Andrew Donoho, “Rescuer” is one of Warren’s most personal releases to date. The song was written as a tribute to his wife, Kouvr Annon, and reflects on the role she played during one of the most difficult periods of his life.
“When I was at my absolute lowest, my now-wife Kouvr saved me,” Warren said. “Nothing I have or have done is possible without her. This song is written to her as a way of expressing that.”
The “Rescuer” music video premiered during a special iHeart x TikTok livestream release event in Los Angeles before the single’s wider release.
“Rescuer” arrives just weeks before Warren releases Wildchild on August 28. The album follows his 2025 debut, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, and finds Warren continuing to build his music around intensely personal experiences with grief, family, relationships and recovery.
According to Warren, the title Wildchild carries a direct connection to his childhood and his late father.
“Growing up, my dad used to call me Wildchild so it’s always had a special meaning and I even have it tattooed on me,” Warren said.
That history also informs the emotional direction of the record. Warren describes the album as a document of where he is now rather than an attempt to revisit the emotional state captured on his debut.
“Creating this album was really healing, therapeutic and a way for me to continue finding out more about myself,” he explained. “This album really shows where I am in my life today and compared to my first album which feels like a man who is broken, this one is a man who’s trying to heal.”

Wildchild explores loss and grief alongside the process of moving forward, with Warren examining what remains after loss and the lessons carried into the next stage of life. The record continues the autobiographical songwriting and soulful vocal approach that have defined his rise since launching his music career in 2021.
“Rescuer” follows Warren’s recent singles “Passenger,” “Fine Place To Die” and “Fever Dream,” extending the run of new material leading into Wildchild.
The new era arrives after the enormous commercial success of You’ll Be Alright, Kid, which has generated more than nine billion streams according to Warren’s team. His breakthrough year also included five iHeartRadio Music Awards, the 2025 MTV VMA for Best New Artist and recognition as Billboard’s Best New Artist of 2025.
Warren is currently supporting the new material on his sold-out Finding Family On The Road Tour, a global arena run taking place ahead of the album’s release.
With “Rescuer,” Warren places the relationship that helped carry him through some of his lowest moments at the center of Wildchild’s larger story. If his debut documented a person living inside grief, his second album appears positioned around the more complicated question of what happens when healing finally begins.
