flowerovlove has never been interested in doing things the conventional way.
The 21-year-old singer-songwriter continues to build one of pop‘s most distinctive young careers with the release of the official video for “American Wedding,” a self-directed visual that transforms romance into a delightfully chaotic piece of vintage-inspired theater.
Drawing inspiration from classic melodramas and silent film storytelling, the video finds flowerovlove at the center of a wedding ceremony gone spectacularly wrong. Complete with old-fashioned intertitle cards and a revolving cast of questionable suitors, the visual leans into humor and absurdity while showcasing the artist’s increasingly confident creative vision.
Each prospective groom is put to the test as flowerovlove’s bride character confronts the question, “Do you take mini skirt warrior to be your wife?” The answer, unsurprisingly, proves complicated.
The video features a series of notable cameos, including Top Dawg Entertainment artist alemeda, “Just Trish” podcast co-host Oscar Gracey, creative director Misha Sattar, known for her work with Chappell Roan, and WILLOW.
Released in April, “American Wedding” quickly attracted attention from both critics and fans, earning a place on Rolling Stone’s Songs You Need to Know playlist. The track further showcased flowerovlove’s gift for blending witty storytelling, sharp pop instincts, and a perspective that feels entirely her own.
Speaking about the song’s origins, flowerovlove revealed that its title was inspired by Frank Ocean’s unreleased track of the same name.
“I just love the concept of that song, and I feel like it was a banging title,” she explained. “So I wrote a whole story about that from the title.”
That ability to build entire worlds from a single idea has become one of the defining traits of her songwriting. Across her growing catalog, flowerovlove combines playful observations, youthful confidence, romantic chaos, and emotional honesty into songs that feel both deeply personal and instantly relatable.
The release arrives amid a period of significant momentum for the rising artist. Fresh off performances at Governors Ball in New York and OUTLOUD Music Festival at WeHo Pride, flowerovlove is continuing to expand her international profile through both music and fashion.
Later this summer she will perform at Spain’s Benicàssim Festival before joining Capitol Records labelmate Niall Horan on the UK leg of his Dinner Party Live On Tour. The run includes arena dates throughout the United Kingdom, culminating in two nights at London‘s O2 Arena.
While still early in her career, flowerovlove has already established herself as one of pop’s most promising emerging voices. She has accumulated more than 142 million global streams, including more than 40 million streams for “breaking news” and more than 20 million streams for “a girl like me.”

Her influence extends well beyond music. Recent appearances at Fashion Week events in Paris, New York, and London have cemented her status as a rising style figure, while collaborations with brands including Louis Vuitton and Etsy have highlighted her growing cultural reach.
What makes flowerovlove particularly compelling is her ability to navigate these different creative spaces without losing her individuality. Whether she’s directing her own videos, writing sharply observed pop songs, or stepping into the fashion world, her work consistently reflects a strong sense of identity and artistic control.
With “American Wedding,” flowerovlove delivers another reminder that she’s not simply following pop trends. She’s creating her own universe, one filled with romance, rebellion, humor, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
