At just 20 years old, Bella Kay has already proven she’s more than another viral success story. With the release of her long-awaited debut album, My Reckless Abandon, the Texas-born singer-songwriter delivers her most complete artistic statement yet, pairing deeply personal songwriting with the alternative pop sensibilities that have quickly established her as one of the genre’s fastest-rising voices.
Executive produced by Idarose, whose credits include Becky G, Suki Waterhouse, and Joji, My Reckless Abandon chronicles Bella’s journey through heartbreak, self-discovery, and the emotional turbulence of early adulthood. The album arrives alongside its focus track, “I Deserve Better,” a guitar-driven anthem about breaking free from relationships that no longer serve you and choosing self-worth over familiarity.
“My Reckless Abandon is an album about all of my thoughts—the good, bad, confusing, obsessive, honest, and beautiful ones,” Bella shared in a statement. “It’s cathartic to share this album with the world. When people listen to it, I hope they recognize themselves and their own experiences.”
The album follows a breakout stretch that has transformed Bella from an emerging artist into one of pop’s most compelling new voices. Earlier this year, she released the project a couple minutes out, featuring the Platinum-certified single “iloveitiloveitiloveit.” The song earned an American Music Awards nomination for Song of the Summer, landed on the Billboard Hot 100, and has generated more than 493 million streams alongside 3.5 billion views across 1.3 million TikTok creations. Her earlier viral hit, “The Sick,” has also surpassed 220 million streams and accumulated more than 2.7 billion TikTok views.
Critics have taken notice of Bella’s rapid ascent. Rolling Stone recently described the young songwriter as “heading into a white-hot year,” praising the grit and emotional honesty that define her music, while NYLON credited her with “taking the indie-rock sound and flipping it on its head.”
That momentum has translated just as powerfully to the live stage. Bella recently announced The Reckless Tour, her North American headline run beginning in September, with every date already sold out. The tour includes festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Festival, and Yours Always Festival before Bella joins Noah Kahan on his UK and Ireland arena tour this fall. In 2027, she’ll continue that upward trajectory supporting Gracie Abrams on select arena dates across North America.

With My Reckless Abandon, Bella Kay moves beyond the viral moments that introduced her to millions of listeners. The album showcases a songwriter willing to embrace vulnerability without sacrificing confidence, delivering a coming-of-age record that feels both intimate and universally relatable. If this debut is any indication, Bella Kay’s breakthrough is only just beginning.
