Los Angeles punk band Surfbort have released their new single and video “Hot Dog,” the final preview of their upcoming album Reality Star, arriving March 6 via TODO Records. The explosive track arrives alongside a chaotic, star-filled video directed by Pooneh Ghana, featuring appearances from more than 25 artists including Jesse Rutherford (The Neighbourhood), Zumi Rosow (The Black Lips), Bonavega, Dead City, Bella Ferrada, and professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto.
With its playful spirit and loud, rebellious energy, “Hot Dog” captures the carefree attitude that defines Surfbort’s music. Frontwoman Dani Miller describes the track as a reminder to slow down and enjoy life rather than overthink everything.
“Hot Dog is our reminder to take a breath, chill out, and learn how to enjoy life again,” Miller explains. “Inspired by the playful energy of the B-52’s, we wanted to create something fun, colorful, and gloriously unserious. Sometimes life should just be about whatever ridiculous thing makes you grin until it hurts.”
The single serves as the final introduction to Surfbort’s third studio album Reality Star, a record that balances the chaos of modern life with the cathartic release of punk music. Reality Star follows the band’s 2021 album Keep On Truckin’ and marks Surfbort’s debut release on TODO Records.

Across the album, Surfbort channel classic punk influences ranging from Black Flag and Dead Kennedys to the eccentric pop-punk spirit of The B-52’s and the emotional grit of Nirvana. The result is a loud, unfiltered record that reflects the band’s famously wild live shows.
At the center of Surfbort’s sound is Dani Miller’s unmistakable vocal style. Her delivery moves effortlessly between raw punk spoken-word intensity and melodic hooks, giving the band a sound that feels both nostalgic and distinctly modern.
Recorded in Los Angeles, Reality Star was tracked by Adam Laidlaw, Riff Cuéllar, and Luis Flores, mixed by Laidlaw, and mastered by Cuéllar at The Boat studio.
Originally emerging from Brooklyn’s underground punk scene, Surfbort have built a reputation for chaotic performances and fearless authenticity. With “Hot Dog,” the band deliver a high-energy anthem that captures the playful rebellion and raw spirit that define Reality Star.
