As the world’s biggest soccer tournament prepares to take over the United States this summer, Sports Illustrated is making an aggressive push into live entertainment with the launch of SI Beyond the Pitch, a four-city nightlife and fan experience series that aims to fuse soccer, celebrity culture, music, fashion, and high-end hospitality into one sprawling cultural event.
Produced alongside Medium Rare and Authentic Live, the series marks Sports Illustrated’s most ambitious live-events expansion to date, transforming tournament weekends into VIP-driven nightlife spectacles across Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, and New York. Rather than positioning itself as another sports-adjacent activation, SI Beyond the Pitch appears designed to sit at the center of the larger cultural moment orbiting the tournament itself, where music, luxury branding, influencer culture, and global fandom collide.
The lineup reflects that strategy. Los Angeles kicks off June 12 at the Hollywood Palladium with a headlining performance from Nelly. Dallas follows June 20 with Gordo taking over SILO. Miami lands June 26 at DAER with The Chainsmokers, before the series closes July 18 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York with a double-header from 50 Cent and Diplo.
The rollout arrives after Sports Illustrated’s increasingly visible pivot into experiential entertainment. The publication’s recent SI The Party event during Big Game Weekend 2026 drew celebrity appearances from Justin Bieber, Travis Kelce, Ciara, Russell Wilson, and Travis Scott, alongside performances from Ludacris and The Chainsmokers. That success appears to have accelerated SI’s transformation from legacy sports publication into something much broader: a lifestyle brand competing in the same premium-event ecosystem occupied by music festivals, Formula 1 afterparties, and luxury hospitality collectives.
“This isn’t just a tournament; it’s the most significant sporting event of a generation to hit American soil,” said Medium Rare founder Joe Silberzweig in the official announcement.
Corporate partnerships also play heavily into the experience. Lenovo joins as presenting partner for Los Angeles and Miami, while Verizon, Marriott Bonvoy, BetMGM, BOSS, Champion, Nautica, Velocity Black, and Aéropostale will each host branded activations throughout the series.

What makes SI Beyond the Pitch particularly notable is how openly it embraces spectacle. This is not attempting to replicate traditional sports viewing culture. Instead, it leans fully into exclusivity, nightlife, fashion photography, celebrity arrivals, curated influencer ecosystems, and festival-style performances. In many ways, it reflects the ongoing evolution of soccer fandom in America itself, increasingly shaped not only by the sport, but by the cultural machine surrounding it.
With more talent still expected to be announced, Sports Illustrated is betting big that the future of sports media may look less like a magazine cover and more like the hottest ticket in town.
