The Strokes are back in full cycle mode.
After returning to the desert for Coachella, the band has now confirmed a full 2026 global tour alongside their next album Reality Awaits, set for release June 26. The rollout connects cleanly: new music, major festival appearances, and a long stretch of headline dates across North America, the U.K., Europe, and Japan.
The Strokes’ Coachella appearance this year marked one of their most visible sets in recent memory, pulling a massive crowd and leaning into a mix of early catalog staples and newer material. It wasn’t a reinvention, but it didn’t feel static either. The set played like a reminder of how locked-in they can be live when the moment calls for it, loose without falling apart, sharp without feeling over-rehearsed.
That momentum carries straight into the newly announced tour.
The Strokes 2026 tour kicks off in June and runs through the fall, hitting a mix of amphitheaters, arenas, and festival stages. Key stops include two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater, London’s O2 Arena, Paris’ Accor Arena, and a return to the West Coast with Outside Lands in San Francisco and Just Like Heaven in Pasadena.
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 17, with presales opening earlier in the week.
The tour is tied directly to Reality Awaits, the band’s first full-length since 2020’s The New Abnormal. That record reestablished them in a modern context without leaning too hard on nostalgia, and this new album looks positioned to continue that trajectory rather than reset it.

Recorded in Costa Rica with Rick Rubin and finished across multiple locations, Reality Awaits leans into a more polished, studio-driven sound. The first single, “Going Shopping,” already points in that direction, controlled, slightly detached, and more refined than the band’s early work without losing the underlying tension that defines them.
Live, the tour won’t be minimal. A rotating group of support acts joins across dates, including Thundercat, Cage the Elephant, Hamilton Leithauser, Fat White Family, and Alex Cameron, giving different legs of the run their own tone instead of flattening everything into one format.
The structure of the schedule matters here. This isn’t just a run of headline shows, it’s built around major festival anchors like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Summer Sonic, with standalone dates filling the gaps. That kind of routing keeps the band in constant rotation across different audiences instead of isolating them to one lane.
Coming off Coachella, that approach makes sense. The band doesn’t need to reintroduce themselves, but they do need to stay visible in a landscape that moves fast. A tightly spaced rollout like this keeps them present without overextending.
