Laufey is expanding her Grammy-winning album with a deluxe edition. A Matter of Time: The Final Hour arrives April 10 via AWAL/Vingolf Recordings, adding four previously unreleased tracks to the fifteen that made up the original release. The first of those new songs, “How I Get,” is out today.
The new track finds Laufey in familiar emotional territory, exploring the loss of control that comes with one specific person despite being disciplined and grounded in every other area of life. It’s a sharp, self-aware entry point into what the deluxe edition promises to deliver more of.
The timing makes sense. Earlier this month Laufey took home Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 68th Grammy Awards for A Matter of Time, her second win in the category. The first came in 2024 for Bewitched, which made her the youngest artist ever to win the honor. The original album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Jazz Albums chart, where it has held a top ten position since release. In January she was awarded Icelandic knighthood, the Order of the Falcon, by the Icelandic president.

Produced alongside Spencer Stewart and Aaron Dessner, the deluxe edition continues a run that shows no signs of slowing. Laufey is currently mid-way through a sold-out European tour, with dates gone at London’s O2 Arena across two nights, the Adidas Arena in Paris, Dublin’s 3Arena, and more. It follows a North American leg that included two sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden and two at Crypto.com Arena.
April is going to be a busy month. Beyond the deluxe album on the 10th, a live album recorded at Madison Square Garden drops April 18th for Record Store Day, and her debut children’s book Mei Mei The Bunny follows on April 21st via Penguin Random House.
