Jai’Len Josey is stepping into her biggest moment yet. The Atlanta-born singer-songwriter has signed with WME for global representation and revealed her major label debut album, Serial Romantic, set for release April 24 via Def Jam Recordings.
The announcement signals a clear transition from rising talent to full-scale breakout. With WME now handling her global touring and representation, Josey is positioned to expand beyond recorded music and into a more visible live and cultural presence.
Her upcoming album Serial Romantic arrives with serious weight behind it. The project is executive produced by five-time GRAMMY Award winner Tricky Stewart, with additional contributions from The-Dream, Leon Thomas, and Theron Thomas. It marks Josey’s first full-length release under Def Jam and her most fully realized body of work to date.
At its core, Serial Romantic explores the emotional contradictions of modern relationships, moving between vulnerability, independence, and self-definition. Josey leans into a sound that blends contemporary R&B with pop-forward structure, while maintaining the storytelling precision that first set her apart as a songwriter.
That balance is already clear on her recent single “Housewife,” a confident and cinematic track that reframes traditional ideas of love and domesticity. Instead of presenting romance as expectation, Josey flips it into a conversation about choice and autonomy. The release follows earlier singles “Won’t Force You,” “Freak,” and “New Girl,” which have steadily built momentum across platforms and editorial coverage.

Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Josey built a strong foundation behind the scenes. She wrote the platinum-certified track “Pressure” for Ari Lennox and has collaborated with artists including SZA, Wyclef Jean, Rod Wave, Babyface, MC Lyte, Coco Jones, Xavier Omar, and LAYA. That songwriting background continues to shape her approach, giving her catalog a level of emotional specificity that cuts through a crowded R&B landscape.
Her path into music was anything but typical. Josey first gained national attention on Broadway, starring as Pearl in The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!. She later transitioned into recorded music with her Illustrations EP in 2020, followed by Southern Delicacy in 2023 after signing with Def Jam.
Now, with a major agency behind her and a debut album ready to land, Jai’Len Josey is no longer building quietly. Serial Romantic feels like the moment everything aligns.
