Carín León continues his global rise with the release of “Ruca,” the latest single from his forthcoming album MUDA, set to arrive May 7. The track marks a bold evolution for the Mexican superstar, blending disco and funk influences into his signature regional Mexican foundation while pushing toward a more expansive, pop-driven sound.
Written by Andrés Jael Correa Ríos, Casta, and Edgar Barrera, who also co-produced the record, “Ruca” showcases León’s growing versatility as he continues to reshape the boundaries of música Mexicana. The accompanying video, filmed at Club Obregón in Hermosillo, Sonora, leans into that same energy, pairing the track’s rhythmic pulse with a visually immersive setting.
MUDA will span 14 tracks and further expand León’s sonic palette, including collaborations with Venezuelan band Rawayana on “Bingo” and global icon Juanes on “Carranga.” The project follows previously released singles like “La Buena,” signaling a cohesive yet genre-fluid body of work that positions León firmly within a global music conversation.
The release arrives alongside a massive run of live dates. León’s 2026 North American tour kicks off May 20 and includes major stops at Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, BMO Stadium, and Bridgestone Arena. Beyond the U.S., León is set to headline Summer Sonic 2026 in Tokyo and Osaka, becoming the first Mexican artist to top a major festival in Tokyo.

Later this year, León will make history once again as the first Latin artist to headline Sphere in Las Vegas, with a multi-night residency scheduled across two weekends in September following overwhelming demand.
With “Ruca” and MUDA, León continues to redefine what contemporary Latin music can sound like. The combination of genre experimentation, global touring scale, and cultural milestones underscores his position as one of the most influential voices shaping the next era of música Mexicana.
