Chicago R&B singer-songwriter BJRNCK has released the deluxe edition of her debut album, A Girl Like Me, adding five new tracks and collaborations with Fetty Wap, Tink and G Herbo.
A Girl Like Me (Deluxe) arrived August 21 via Interscope/Geffen Records alongside a new music video for “Radio Love” featuring Fetty Wap. The expanded album builds on BJRNCK’s approach to contemporary R&B through songs centered on romance, vulnerability, independence and emotional honesty. Rather than treating the deluxe edition as a collection of leftovers, BJRNCK uses its five additional tracks to continue the themes established on her debut.
“A Girl Like Me was already enough. The Deluxe is just extra pressure,” BJRNCK said of the release.
“Radio Love” is one of the project’s most prominent new collaborations, pairing BJRNCK’s soulful vocal style with Fetty Wap’s melodic delivery. The track arrives with an official music video and gives the deluxe edition another connection between contemporary R&B and the melodic hip-hop that helped shape the sound of the previous decade.
Tink joins BJRNCK on “Matter,” bringing together two artists with ties to Chicago and a shared emphasis on candid relationship writing. G Herbo appears on “Coming Home,” a song framed around a modern Chicago love story and the emotional complications of returning to someone familiar.
The remaining additions, “Sex On The Beach” and “Sin,” round out the five-song expansion. Together, the new material pushes further into BJRNCK’s stated goal of bringing emotional openness back to R&B while maintaining a sound informed by the genre’s ’90s and early-2000s traditions.
The deluxe release also gives greater context to BJRNCK’s emergence as a solo artist. Raised in Chicago, she developed her voice singing in church before moving into professional recording and eventually collaborating with artists including Babyface and Omarion. Her work with Omarion included an appearance on “Taking Off,” before BJRNCK stepped away temporarily to refocus her direction as an artist.
That return has increasingly centered on a simple idea: R&B should feel personal. BJRNCK has cited the emotional directness of earlier generations of R&B as an influence on her own writing, using relationships and vulnerability as material without abandoning independence or self-assurance.
With A Girl Like Me (Deluxe), that philosophy now has a broader canvas. Fetty Wap, Tink and G Herbo each bring a recognizable perspective to the expanded album, but BJRNCK remains its center, using the additional songs to further establish the identity behind her first full-length project.
