beabadoobee Releases “Memories” Ahead of New Album ‘Pylon’

beabadoobee has released “Memories,” the latest preview of her forthcoming album Pylon, arriving September 18 via Dirty Hit/Interscope Records. The new song finds Beatrice Laus caught between the comfort of nostalgia and the sadness that comes with knowing a moment cannot be lived again.

Described by beabadoobee as one of the happiest songs on Pylon, “Memories” complicates that brightness with an emotional fixation on the past. The track centers on romanticizing moments that should bring happiness, only to find that revisiting them can make their absence feel even more pronounced.

That contradiction fits squarely within the emotional landscape of Pylon. The album finds beabadoobee returning to an unusually intimate writing process, composing alone in hotel rooms in a way that reminded her of writing songs by herself as a teenager. The resulting record moves through anger, loneliness, exhilaration, depression and love without attempting to flatten those emotions into a single mood.

“Memories” follows previously released Pylon singles “Switchblade” and “Sun Has Set.” The latter introduced the album in July alongside a first-person music video directed by Bea’s partner and longtime visual collaborator Jake Erland.

The new single has already made its way to the stage. beabadoobee debuted “Memories” live during a recent stretch of U.S. performances that included Lollapalooza, Hinterland and a headline date at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The release of Pylon will follow 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves, which became beabadoobee’s first No. 1 album on the UK Official Albums Chart. Her previous albums Fake It Flowers and Beatopia both reached the UK Top 10, while her catalog has accumulated more than 10 billion streams worldwide.

Earlier in 2026, beabadoobee also teamed with The Marías for the standalone single “All I Did Was Dream Of You,” extending a creative relationship born from the mutual admiration between Bea and The Marías vocalist María Zardoya.

Following the September 18 arrival of Pylon, beabadoobee will embark on the biggest tour of her career. The Powerlines World Tour marks her first arena headline run and begins October 1 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The North American leg includes Madison Square Garden in New York on October 5, The Kia Forum in Los Angeles on October 21 and Oakland Arena on October 26 before wrapping October 29 at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena. Wisp will support the North American dates.

The tour resumes in November with arena dates throughout the UK and Europe, including Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Manchester’s AO Arena and London’s The O2. Violet Grohl will support select European dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and Düsseldorf.

With “Memories,” beabadoobee offers another piece of an album seemingly built around contradictions. Pylon looks backward to the solitary songwriting process that first shaped her music while documenting an artist whose career has expanded far beyond the bedroom where it began.
