For years, The Lemon Twigs have occupied a strange and increasingly fascinating space in modern rock music. Too melodic for indie cynicism, too theatrical for garage rock purists, and too emotionally sincere to comfortably fit inside contemporary irony, the Long Island brothers have quietly built one of the most distinctive catalogs of the last decade. With their sixth studio album Look For Your Mind!, released today via Captured Tracks, Brian and Michael D’Addario continue refining that identity into something sharper, warmer, and unexpectedly darker underneath the shimmer.
On the surface, Look For Your Mind! feels immediately inviting. The record glides through harmony-rich pop, piano balladry, glam-rock flourishes, and pristine hooks with the kind of craftsmanship that has made the band cult heroes among obsessive music fans and fellow musicians alike. But beneath its bright melodic architecture sits a creeping sense of unease. Brian D’Addario describes the album as being shaped by “a time of insanity,” where protecting your own sense of self has become increasingly difficult. That tension gives the album its pulse. Even the sweetest moments carry traces of paranoia, confusion, and emotional exhaustion.
The album also marks a noticeable evolution in how The Lemon Twigs operate as a band. Previous records often felt almost hermetically sealed by the brothers themselves, with Brian and Michael handling nearly every musical element in the studio. This time, the inclusion of live collaborators Reza Matin, Danny Ayala, and Eva Chambers of Tchotchke adds a looser, more breathable energy to the recordings. Songs like “2 or 3” and “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You” retain the meticulous songwriting the band is known for while allowing more movement, spontaneity, and emotional texture to seep through.
That progression follows the creative breakthrough many fans heard across 2023’s Everything Harmony and 2024’s A Dream Is All We Know, albums that repositioned The Lemon Twigs less as retro revivalists and more as genuine songwriters capable of translating decades of pop history into something emotionally immediate.

To support the release, the band will spend much of 2026 on the road with an extensive international run stretching across North America, the UK, Europe, and Japan. Highlights include stops at The Fillmore, London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and Japan’s legendary Fuji Rock Festival.
