The EA Sports FC soundtrack has quietly become one of the more reliable places to discover what people are about to be listening to everywhere else. This year, that search stretches across 36 countries and 120 songs, and Colombia’s Monsieur Periné have landed directly in the middle of it.
Monsieur Periné’s “Aguaráchate” is featured on the official EA Sports FC 27 soundtrack, putting the two-time Latin Grammy-winning group alongside an unusually broad lineup that includes The Strokes, Interpol, The Neighbourhood, The War on Drugs, Little Simz, Nia Archives and Chase & Status.
It is the kind of eclectic sequencing that has become fundamental to the identity of the franchise. Football might be the common denominator, but its soundtrack has never been particularly interested in respecting genre or geographic boundaries. Indie rock can run directly into drum and bass, rap, electronic music and Latin alternative, often introducing millions of players to artists they might never encounter through their normal streaming habits.
For Monsieur Periné, “Aguaráchate” is an especially natural fit.
The track comes from the Colombian band’s latest album, Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz, and captures much of what has made Catalina García and Santiago Prieto so difficult to neatly categorize. Monsieur Periné have spent their career moving between pop, jazz and swing while folding in Colombian and broader Latin American rhythms including cumbia, salsa and bolero. “Aguaráchate” carries that rhythmic identity into a song built to move, which should translate quite comfortably to a game where sitting still is not really the point.
The EA Sports FC 27 placement also extends a surprisingly strong relationship between “Aguaráchate” and football. The song is featured in JAMES, the Netflix documentary miniseries about Colombian football star James Rodríguez, appearing during its third episode. It was also named Best Dance/Electronic Song at the 2026 Premios Nuestra Tierra.
Now it has another potentially enormous audience.
EA Sports FC 27 launches worldwide September 25, with Early Access beginning September 18. Its soundtrack spans 120 songs from artists representing 36 countries, continuing the franchise’s longstanding role as a music-discovery machine disguised inside one of the world’s biggest sports games.
And that discovery component matters. There is a particular kind of song recognition produced by spending dozens, or hundreds, of hours inside a sports game. Eventually a track stops being something playing behind a menu and becomes permanently welded to a specific period of your life. Generations of FIFA and EA Sports FC players can probably hear the opening seconds of certain songs and immediately remember exactly which edition they were playing.
For Monsieur Periné, the placement arrives during an already busy period surrounding Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz. The album continues a catalog that has repeatedly resisted the idea that Latin alternative music needs to choose between tradition and experimentation. The group’s earlier work includes Encanto Tropical and Bolero Apocalíptico, the latter of which won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Their breakout success stretches back considerably further, including “Nuestra Canción,” a song whose later viral resurgence introduced the band to another enormous generation of listeners.
That ability to keep finding new audiences makes the FC 27 placement feel less like an outlier than the latest version of something Monsieur Periné have been doing for years.
It also arrives in the middle of the band’s Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz Tour. While the run began September 18 in Washington, D.C., several dates remain following the soundtrack announcement, including Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans, Orlando and Miami before the tour heads to Mexico City, Bogotá, Caracas and Puerto Rico.

There is something fitting about a Colombian band whose music has always treated borders between genres as suggestions appearing on a soundtrack designed for a sport that barely acknowledges borders at all.
“Aguaráchate” was already moving through albums, awards, television and live stages. Starting September 25, it gets the chance to become one of those songs permanently lodged in the brains of EA Sports FC 27 players too.
