Álvaro Díaz has released his new song “BABYRECORDS,” arriving alongside an official video and marking the first major preview of his upcoming album OMAKASE. The track, out now via Universal Music Latino, signals a new creative phase for the Puerto Rican artist as he leans into a more assertive, reggaeton-driven sound.
“BABYRECORDS” draws directly from classic reggaeton influences, channeling the style of Tego Calderón and Voltio, where lyricism and wordplay take center stage. The production, handled by Sky Rompiendo, blends that old-school energy with a polished, contemporary edge, giving the track both nostalgia and forward momentum.
The title “BABYRECORDS” references reggaeton pioneer Zion and his early-2000s label, grounding the song in the genre’s legacy. In its final moments, the track incorporates a snippet from “Ven Pégate,” further reinforcing that connection. Díaz also pulls from his own catalog, referencing a line from “Pro” off his 2020 project Díaz Antes, which has recently resurfaced across social media.
The official “BABYRECORDS” video, directed by WAIV and filmed in Mexico City, expands on the track’s concept through a layered, visually driven approach. Built as a collage of scenes and hidden references, the video reflects Díaz’s creative perspective, prioritizing symbolism and mood over linear storytelling.

The release comes at a moment of growing recognition for Álvaro Díaz. He was recently honored by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation at the 27th Annual National Youth Awards, becoming the first recipient of the Huella Award, which celebrates young Latino artists making a lasting cultural impact.
Looking ahead, Álvaro Díaz is set to headline major festival appearances including Zona Acapulco Festival and La Solar Festival in Medellín, while continuing the rollout toward OMAKASE. With “BABYRECORDS,” he sets the tone for the album, blending reggaeton history with a sharper, more defined artistic direction.
