CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso are stepping into a new global spotlight with their first appearance on THE FIRST TAKE, delivering a stripped, one-take version of “BABY GANGSTA” that leans fully into their live intensity.
Filmed for Episode 662 of the widely watched YouTube series, the Argentinian duo rework one of their most recognizable tracks into something tighter and more immediate. The format leaves no room for excess. One take, no resets, no safety net. It’s a setup that favors presence over polish, and that’s exactly where they thrive.
For this session, they’re joined by Yu Seki on drums and Kazuki Arai on bass, both members of Japanese band King Gnu. The collaboration connects two scenes that don’t often overlap this directly, pulling Latin alternative energy into Japan’s live-session ecosystem.
“BABY GANGSTA” lands differently in this setting. The rhythm stays intact, but the arrangement breathes more, letting the performance carry the weight. CA7RIEL leans into the duality behind the track’s identity, describing it as “kind, but gangsta,” while Paco Amoroso frames the session as a reset from their usual live structure into something more exposed.
The collaboration itself came out of momentum built overseas. After drawing attention with their Japan debut at Fuji Rock Festival, the duo connected with Seki and Arai, who were already familiar with their live show. That familiarity translates here. The performance feels less like a feature and more like a shared language being worked out in real time.

The THE FIRST TAKE appearance adds another layer to CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s steady international expansion. Known for their high-impact performances and genre-blurring approach, they’ve already built a reputation across Latin markets and festival circuits, including opening for Kendrick Lamar in South America.
This session doesn’t try to scale things up. It strips them down instead. And in that space, the performance hits harder.
