San Francisco dance music institution Om Records is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a major hometown event, announcing a free concert at Embarcadero Plaza on Saturday, May 9, 2026, alongside a new compilation album and a full day-to-night takeover in the city.
The event, presented as part of the SF Free Concerts series, is produced by Another Planet Entertainment in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department. The daytime show at Embarcadero Plaza will be open to the public, with an official afterparty scheduled at The Great Northern later that night. Artist lineups for both events are expected to be announced soon, building anticipation around what is shaping up to be one of San Francisco’s standout live music events of the spring.
The celebration coincides with the release of Om Records – 30 Years, an anniversary compilation album arriving May 8, 2026. The project highlights the label’s deep catalog and continued influence in electronic and dance music, bringing together a mix of legacy artists and newer collaborators tied to the Om Records ecosystem.

Leading the current rollout is “Deja Vu” by 40 Thieves, a groove-driven track that blends funk basslines with disco textures, reflecting the signature sound that helped define the label. A remix from Payfone reworks the track into a more club-forward version, adding a heavier dancefloor energy while maintaining its original character.
The compilation has already previewed a wide range of contributors, including Samantha James and Late Night Alumni, Mark Farina, Groove Armada, Colette, J Boogie’s Dubtronic Science, Kaskade, and EZI. Together, the releases position Om Records – 30 Years as both a retrospective and a forward-looking statement from one of the longest-running independent dance music labels in the United States.
Founded in San Francisco in 1995, Om Records has built a reputation for pushing refined, genre-blending electronic music while maintaining a strong connection to global dance culture. Over three decades, the label has navigated seismic industry shifts, from the collapse of physical formats to the rise of streaming, while continuing to release music and produce events that resonate with audiences worldwide.

The upcoming Embarcadero Plaza concert reflects both that legacy and the city’s ongoing investment in public live music programming. Free outdoor events have become a key part of San Francisco’s cultural resurgence, and Om Records’ 30-year milestone provides a natural focal point for bringing the community together through music.
More than a celebration, the anniversary underscores Om Records’ staying power. Thirty years in, the label remains a defining force in dance music, still evolving, still curating, and still rooted in the same forward-thinking ethos that launched it.
